Idées de projet

Project ideas

The first step is to create your team and define your project. You can work on your own or in a team of two. If you choose to work in a team, the scope of the project will need to be twice as big. When you have an idea of what you'd like to do, write me an email describing your idea so we can agree on your project objectives.

Getting my approval is mandatory! Wait for it before you start working on your project (promise I'll answer quickly!) Any project without my approval will not be evaluated.

1. Projets pré-définis

1. Pre-defined projects

Here is a list of ideas related to topics we've covered in class, but that weren't part of homeworks:

2. Inspirez-vous

2. Get inspired!

You can also take inspiration from students who took the class last year, or those from Carnegie Mellon.

3. Proposez votre propre projet!

3. Come up with your own!

Finally, propose your own project, and get up to 20% of additional credit!

Livrables

Deliverables

The final project is composed of 2 deliverables: a report and a presentation.

Rapport (50%)

Report (50%)

As for the homeworks, the final project will be handed in a webpage format. Remember: the aesthetics of the website will not be evaluated, but it is important that the information be presented clearly.

Plus précisément, la page devrait contenir:

More precisely, the webpage should:

Présentation (50%)

Presentation (50%)

In addition, you will also have to present your project by way of a narrated video clip.

You cannot use your report (webpage) for your presentation. You must prepare another document (Powerpoint/Keynote/PDF).

Évaluation par les pairs

Peer evaluation

  1. Trouvez votre nom dans la première colonne des tableaux ci-bas afin de déterminer les 3 projets que vous devrez évaluer;
  2. Visionnez les capsules vidéos de chaque projet (vous n'avez pas à lire les rapports);

You must also grade the projects of 3 of your peers. For this:

  1. Find you name in the first columns of the tables below to determine the 3 projects you must grade;
  2. Watch the videos of each project (you don't have to read the reports);
  3. Go to the portail and grade each project according to the provided criteria.

Videos will be available on May 1st. You will then have until May 7th 2020 at 1:30pm to grade your peers. This is mandatory, your grade will not be entered until this has been completed.

Remise

Handing in procedure

For this homework, you must create a projet.zip file. In this file you'll put:

Finally, you should upload this file (projet.zip) on the "portail des cours" before the deadline. As opposed to homeworks, no delay will be tolerated. Any report submitted past the deadline will receive the grade 0 (for the report only). For any question regarding the submission process or the project as such, ask your questions on PAX!

Beware! The file size limit on the "portail" is 250MB.
